I have been thinking more about the theme-based editions. The way I gather these articles, it would not be difficult. I usually select based on two metrics: 1. Does it fit Rip’s audience? 2. Is it well-written? There is so much to choose from at American Greatness, The Federalist, Townhall, Patriot Post, RedState, and many others. Each site has its own style. Substack is turning out to be a great source of good essays, as well. And it has the least friction in terms of clutter and popups.

That is a great idea. First, i need to ascertain if the readers are accepting of the current bullet summaries. Then I’ll entertain wrap ups. But I like the idea. Good stories are the main course. It is nice to have appetizers and possibly a dessert.

I’ve spoken to the pemster. He will be back. Ran Bill Schoettler yesterday — he was a semi-regular. When VDH publishes, I pick him up. Tell you the truth, as much as I like VDH, I often was looking for a summary rather than the whole enchilada. That’s why I like the summary bullets! The ones I decide to publish are truly the best I can find — out of hundreds. Rip would not have it any other way. There are some excellent Substack authors out there, too. Judd and I both came from Substack. Berenson and Childers are also Substack guys. But American Greatness and others are still the meat and potatoes of the NL.

Love what you are doing with Rip’s Newsletter Jim, please keep it up. Especially like the summary of an article as a lead in, and also the way you include and bring together articles of a particular topic for inclusion in one newsletter entry - several articles on same topic by a variety of authors. Thanks much!

I like the summaries. Saves lots of time to decide to read. BC

I appreciate the new format.

Having the bullet points before, rather than after is a good choice.

A post reading section of points would also be welcome- to refresh and consolidate what was just read./ PM

I love the synopsis of each article! Saves a lot of time. Only thing is, you are sending out so many good articles that I don't have time to read them all! Rip sent maybe a dozen a week on a good week. I also miss the regulars like Pemster, and Hanson, and other old farts like me. Some of these new guys are worth reading, but are not "old friends."
