Jim’s Note:
Hey testers — I’ve added quite a few new things since the last issue.
This edition includes Victor Davis Hanson, along with four Substack authors I think are worth your time. This is still a test, but we’re getting closer to the end of the testing period, and your input has been enormously helpful.
One of the best things about Rip’s versions was that all the text was in one place. You didn’t have to fight through ads, popups, sidebars, subscription nags, and the rest of the web’s carnival midway. That’s life online now, unfortunately. But some sites are far better than others.
So, as a public service, I’ve added a “Reader Experience” rating for each article. This gives you a little more information before deciding whether to click the link.
Most of the articles I selected come from sites with a lower distraction level. Substack, in particular, has almost zero noise in terms of popups and ads. That makes a difference.
For this issue, I’m using five bullets for each summary. After the bullets, you’ll find an OLW — my “One Line Wrap-Up.” You know I prefer compact, meaningful presentation. No padding. No fog machine. Just the point.
I hope you like these Substack authors. They’re highly rated on my proprietary evaluation system, which is both extremely scientific and completely unavailable for peer review.
Don’t worry — I’ll continue to include the authors Rip used frequently as well.
One note: the story I posted on Substack is included here too. That’s because I need to publish the story before I can link to it. Makes sense in my world.
Enjoy. There is entertainment value here.
Hey there, fellow political junkies! Today, we’re diving into the tangled web of influence and policy shifts shaking up our world. First up, the Soros network is flexing its muscles, with a hefty chunk of Biden’s national security team hailing from a Soros-funded group—talk about pulling the strings! Meanwhile, the Department of Justice is shaking up civil rights enforcement, declaring “disparate impact” unconstitutional, which could spell trouble for the DEI industry. Over in Lee’s Summit, chaos at a local festival has sparked a debate over inclusivity policies and their unintended consequences. And let’s not forget the ongoing civil rights debate, where the focus has shifted from individual treatment to statistical outcomes, leaving many questioning what discrimination truly means today. Buckle up, it’s a wild ride!
